Andrew Shead

The Rev Dr
Andrew Shead

Head of Old Testament and Hebrew Old Testament

Qualifications: BSc (Med) (Sydney), BTh, MTh (ACT), PhD (Cantab)

Research Interests: include the book of Jeremiah, the Septuagint (Greek Old Testament), Psalms, Hebrew poetry, and translation.

I am married to Jean, and we have three young-adult children: Katie, David, and Sophie, who fill our lives with excellent conversation.

I have been on the faculty at Moore College since 1992. Between teaching — which I never tire of — I spend time with my students, preach, and write on the Old Testament. In my work beyond the walls of the College I sit on the NIV Committee on Bible Translation, and relish opportunities to partner with theological educators in the majority world, especially in Africa. I also enjoy literature, music, film, and the world out there.
